How Coaches Can Turn Data Into Action

October 6 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Collecting, reviewing, and understanding data represents the best, most reliable way to identify what students retain from their learning and how to provide instruction and support to get them where they need to be. In this virtual session, Opal Dawson from ASCD will provide engaging, research-based professional learning on evaluating data and applying data analytics results to guide mid-level coaches and managers in their work with teachers.

This learning opportunity is specifically designed for coaches, deans, or assistant principals who oversee teachers across multiple grades and/or content areas. Participants will leave this interactive session with tools to use existing data to monitor student progress that reveal evidence of understanding, and concrete next steps to backwards plan instruction by summative and formative assessments results.

Note: Please bring student data sets, including but not limited to NWEA MAP data, iReady assessment data, STEP/GR data, informal/qualitative notes, a sample of internal classroom assessments or exit tickets, etc.
