In part 2 of this two-part series*, we will explore culturally responsive and linguistically sustaining approaches to instruction including approaches that implement multimodality, translingualism, and critical language analysis. We will discuss the tensions provided by systemic impositions of English-only or English transfer educational expectations and the navigation of book banning and other challenging topics.
