This two-day workshop is designed to strengthen participants’ skills related to the essential aspects of designing and leading workshops about issues like racial equity, class equity, and other sorts of equity in schools. We will explore research-informed basic principles of effective equity-related professional development and strategies for sequencing and pacing workshops to maximize participant engagement. Additionally, we will step through a variety of high-impact activities and exercises, then discuss how they can be used and modified.
