This session will explore how differentiated instruction, specially designed instruction, Universal Design for Learning align to support teacher and learner success. As “three peas in a pod” to enhance classroom level instruction, these teaching strategies and frameworks can be blended to support co-teaching, enhance tiered instruction in MTSS and address individualized learner needs. This session will use video, lecture and hands-on table activities to promote active engagement and discovery.
By attending this session, attendees will leave with:
• Increased understanding of and skills with Differentiated Instruction (DI), Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Increase understanding of how UDL and DI improve outcomes for all students, particularly with academic, social/emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Increased tools to help co-planning among general and special educators to address the needs of students with IEP in general education settings.
