Executive Functioning – What It Is, Why It’s Important, and How To Work On It

This presentation provides an introductory understanding of what executive functioning is and its different components. The concept of capability versus achievement is discussed and how executive function deficits play out in achievement and transition. The presentation also discusses research-based interventions for remediating executive function deficits.

By attending this session, attendees will leave with:

1) An understanding of what executive function skills are
2) An understanding of how executive function deficits affect transition
3) Being able to identify interventions to remediate specific executive function deficits
