Literacy for Secondary MLLs/ELLs: Making Text Accessible (Part 2)

October 26, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Reading texts is central to learning content and tied to academic success. However, comprehending texts can be difficult for a number of reasons. Fortunately, there are things we can do to make a text more accessible to multilingual learners. In this interactive session, Tan will share how to engineer a text to make it more accessible and how to work with alternative texts when students still struggle with reading an engineered text.

By attending this session, attendees will leave with…
– a specific strategy to make any text more comprehensible to secondary MLs.

Presenter: Tan Huynh

Note: Collaborative members will use ONE Trainings/Workshops (TW) seat to attend this two-part series.
