FOR PREMIER MEMBERS OF THE NYC SPECIAL EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE ONLY.
Through training in CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI), participants will develop prevention strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage. Participants will learn how behavior escalates and how to respond appropriately in order to de-escalate. By utilizing discussions, role-plays and activities, attendees will leave the session with certification in verbal de-escalation, physical disengagement skills and physical holding skills by the Crisis Prevention Institute and strategies to support students and staff in moments of crisis.
