As the city continues to see an influx of asylum seekers, the Collaborative invites you to a special, seat-free office hours to learn more about the unique needs of this MLL/ELL sub-population. Hear from our MLL/ELL Program Manager Jen as she shares legal mandates and best practices from the field for enrolling and serving newcomers. Hear directly from social work staff from the Manny Cantor Center on best ways for schools to collaborate with community-based organizations and support families. There will be Q&A time, so come prepared to ask your questions around supporting Newcomers and Asylum Seeker students/families at your school site.
