Join national MLL/ELL expert Maria Dove in this dynamic session and walk away with a framework for MLL/ELL planning, instruction, and assessment. We’ll zoom in particularly on instructional scaffolding that supports the linguistic and academic development of multilingual learners. Specifically, in the workshop you’ll be exposed to nine approaches to scaffolding—instructional, linguistic, multimodal, multisensory, graphic, graphic, digital, interactive/collaborative, social-emotional, and environmental—detailing instructional and assessment strategies and techniques based on research-informed and evidence-based best practices. Come learn more about the planning of instruction and assessment for multilingual learners with particular concerns for how to support Entering and Emerging newcomer students to participate in grade-level work.
