In this three hour in-person workshop, participants will engage with in solving math tasks and making connections to math concepts. Any grade level can benefit, as we discuss how concepts evolve from one grade to another. There will be time to discuss what a conceptual approach can look like in the math routines, lessons, and units that teachers plan and consideration will be given to think about how this work can be addressed. Participants will also have time to discuss tips/plans for the transition to computer based testing.
By attending this session, attendees will leave with…
- Resources and practice with research tested approaches.
- Low-floor, high ceiling math tasks and guidance on how to select them and use them in class.
- Open tip sharing/advice from other participants about best practices and computer based testing.
