Supporting Emergent Bilinguals with Dis/abilities: Identification & Evaluation (Part 1)

November 16 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

As educators, we are tasked with serving ALL students, including our gifted, talented, and neurodiverse populations. In Part One of this two-part series*, Dr. María Cioè-Peña will offer an introduction to the needs of multiply-identified students, as well as the factors that educators must consider during the referral, evaluation, and placement process when working with dually classified students (IEP and MLL/ELL).

By attending this session, attendees will leave with an understanding of the duality of these students’ needs and their role during the initial special education/ELL processes.

Presenter: María Cioe-Pena

*Note: Collaborative members will use only ONE ELL/MLL Instructional (EI) seat to attend this two-part series.
