UDL 2.0: The Principle of Representation & the Recognition Network (Part 2)

November 3 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join Kasia Derbiszewska, a member of the distinguished CAST National Faculty and co-author of Supercharge Your Professional Learning: 40 Concrete Strategies that Improve Adult Learning, in Part Two of this four-part National Speaker Series* on UDL and the brain. In this session, we’ll cover the Recognition Network, which drives how people perceive their environment. In our classrooms, we see this in how learners differ in the ways that they perceive and comprehend information. This session will enable participants to design learning environments that address how to leverage multiple representations in design, how to help learners process language, and how to design for deep comprehension of information. Due to the nature of this session, we will NOT be recording, so live attendance is encouraged.

By attending this session, attendees will leave with concrete tools and strategies for how to provide options for representation, language and mathematical notation, and comprehension.

Presenter: Kasia Derbiszewska

*Note: Collaborative members will use only ONE National Speaker Series (NSS) seat to attend this four-part series.
