How many of your students are pretty good at math but horrible at word problems? This session aims to connect literacy strategies and math content to ensure that student can apply math procedures in context. Participates will leave the session with strategies for vocabulary instruction, writing in math, and ways to improve students’ understanding of word problems.
Please note that this session will utilize middle school examples, but high school teachers are welcome. They will be able to replicate the protocols/tools for their grade/content.
