Working with Families: Understanding Students’ IEPs (Part 1)

September 29 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Families are key stakeholders in Special Education but can sometimes feel intimidated by or left out of the IEP process. How can school-based staff best work with families so they feel supported and included instead? We’re partnering with INCLUDEnyc on a two-part series* to address this important question. In Part One, we invite you to join Maggie Downham as she leads educators through how to provide families with a better understanding of their child’s IEP. We’ll cover how to break down IEPs for families, what to focus on, and how to help families feel prepared for their child’s IEP meeting.

Presenter: Maggie Downham

*Note: Collaborative members will use only ONE Trainings & Workshops (TW) seat to attend this two-part series.
