Testimonials

“I know I can count on the help of anyone at the Collaborative to offer insightful support for our schools. In particular, Jennifer Hall’s excitement to help us tackle new challenges as we continue to grow has been powerful for our ENL programming.” Andrea Chen Curriculum Specialist at Family Life Academy Charter Schools.”

ANDREA CHEN, CURRICULUM SPECIALIST, FAMILY LIFE ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOLS

“There are many times that we, as a school, don’t have the capacity to bring in a specialist. Luckily, with the shared resources of NYC charter schools’ and the planning, expertise, and thoughtfulness of the Collaborative, we can still access these innovative ideas in the field of special education and inclusion.”

NIKKI LADOPOULOS, DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUPPORTS, COMMUNITY ROOTS CHARTER SCHOOL

“Our membership with the Collaborative has been indispensable. In good times and bad (COVID), the Collab has provided critical support as we navigate new realities for students with disabilities and our multi language learners. Our culture teams have been able to take advantage of CPI. We alway have the most up to date information on compliance tasks. Our instructional practices have grown with the support of the expert eyes on the Collaborative team. It can feel lonely in the land of Special Education and Multi Language Learning but the folks at the Collaborative have been a continually reliable source of support and partnership.”

JENNY SYED, DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION AT CONEY ISLAND PREP

“The Collaborative has been a constant support to our developing teachers and programs. We benefit from the extensive professional development they offer, and always return to campus feeling reinvigorated with immediate takeaways towards the benefit of our scholars. Our ability to develop specialized supports within all of our special populations programs is enhanced by their hands-on and deliberate guidance. Each time they visit our schools with a specific lens for consultation, we are left with immediate feedback and tons of resources for continued development.”

ELLIE GROSE, DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION, DEMOCRACY PREP PUBLIC SCHOOLS

“KIPP NYC has been a proud member of the Collaborative since its inception. We are grateful for your expertise and quick replies to our questions on behalf of our students with special needs and English language learners. Thank you for serving the NYC charter sector to ensure all children in the city receive these supports.”

CRAIG VARSA, DIRECTOR OF PSYCHOLOGY, KIPP NYC

The Collaborative has been instrumental in our compliance success. Not only did they assist us in creating and maintaining effective compliance trackers, they’ve helped us follow up on individual student issues, compliance trends, and even get Related Service providers! Most importantly, my ability to track compliance issues and communicate effectively with the CSE has increased as a direct result of coaching by Collaborative staff.
