Navigating the initial IEP process can be overwhelming for staff, students, and families alike. Make sure you’re starting off on the right foot in this two-part series* with INCLUDEnyc.
In Part 1, participants will be able to:
- Understand and explain the steps in the referral process and how to communicate about the process with families
- Explain the difference between a CSE-based IEP team and school-based IEP team and considerations for partnering with families in initials
- Determine action steps to help families prepare for and partner at an initial IEP meeting
- Explain key elements of the Evaluation results, Parent Concerns, and Effects of Disability on Access to General Education sub-sections of the Present Levels of Performance section of the IEP, and discuss strategies for how to communicate with families about these sections
Facilitators: Colin Montgomery (INCLUDEnyc)
Note: Collaborative members will use ONE TW: Trainings & Workshops seat to attend this two-part series.
