Retaining a student (or not) can change the trajectory of a student?s life for better or for worse. Is there a ?right? decision when considering retention or promotion? And if so, how do we make it? In this session, participants will learn about considerations of promotion and retention of MLL/ELL and SWD populations in charter schools. We will explore resources to help understand modified promotional criteria, making promotional decisions for special populations, discuss when retention is necessary, and action items for the remainder of the school year.
