In order to meet the needs of all learners, schools must create inclusive and equitable systems that ensure that all students have equal opportunities to learn at high levels. Schools also need to make sure students and educators are getting the support they need academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally in order to succeed. To do this, we have to challenge beliefs, skills, and our systems so our work is learner-driven and evidence informed. All of that together, in a nutshell, is what forms a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS.)
By attending this session, participants will leave with:
- A deeper understanding of the key drivers of effective MTSS and how it differs from RTI
- Reflections on how individual and Child Study Team (CST) actions that support effective MTSS
- A vision for supporting more effective MTSS from your role
