Calling all charter middle and high schools! NYC Teenspace, a program now offered by NYC Health Department powered by Talkspace, provides any NYC teen 13-17 with virtual therapy with a licensed therapist, at no cost, and is part of the Mayor’s mental health agenda focused on improving family and youth mental health. Talkspace providers can speak over 30+ languages and receive training on providing culturally competent care.
In this FREE info session for school-based mental health leads, Talkspace Lead Clinician Ryan Kelly, LCSW and Lea Krugolets, Talkspace Senior Director of Youth Programs, will introduce and explain this new initiative. They’ll explain the sign-up process, parent/guardian consent procedure, the crisis protocol, and how virtual therapy and self-guided resources can help address top school concerns such as absenteeism, behavioral concerns, and graduation rates. There will also be time at the end for questions. Students can sign up for Talkspace by visiting talkspace.com/nyc.
