(Preparing Impactful Programs for Exceptional Learners Intensive for “New-to-Special-Education” Educators)
Charter schools have always exercised certification flexibility in hiring, but the pandemic exacerbated special education staffing challenges, leading to more designated special education roles being filled by general educators. In response, the Collaborative created the PIPELINE program to train these “new-to-special-education” teachers and their supervisors to support them in learning the fundamentals of special education compliance and instruction. This two-day training for principals/EDs seeks to help break the special education silo and ensure that schools have a cohesive vision for their special education programmatic and instructional supports as we begin planning for next school year.
