Supporting BIPOC Students with ADHD (Part 2)

March 5 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

- $350

Given the prevalence rates, every teacher can count on having at least one child with ADHD in their classroom (diagnosed, or not) and ADHD comes with its own set of considerations for teachers, students and families, including the fact that there is very definitely a cultural component to ADHD that impacts diagnosis, treatment and providing supports in the classroom, particularly for students of color. This two-part series* with veteran educator Evelyn Polk Green (who brings personal experience as both an adult with ADHD and a mother to two adult sons with ADHD) will address some of these issues and provide practical strategies to support ALL students with ADHD.

By attending this series, participants will learn to:

  • Apply a range of evidence-based classroom management strategies specifically tailored to BIPOC students with ADHD, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Utilize proactive interventions such as sensory-friendly arrangements, structured routines, and positive reinforcement techniques, fostering a harmonious and engaging learning space for all students.
  • Recognize and identify challenges specific for BIPOC students with ADHD.

Facilitator: Evelyn Polk Green

Note: Collaborative members who attending this two-part series will use only ONE Trainings/Workshops seat.
