Join us for this two-part series* with Andi Sachs, an occupational therapist and executive functioning expert with the Cooke School and Institute! Part 1 will provide participants a background on occupational therapy services in the elementary setting. This session will focus largely on breaking down sensory processing and executive functioning skills, providing strategies for intervention, and offering a new perspective from an OT on classroom behaviors. The follow up Part 2 session will offer further practical strategies for sensory processing and executive functioning classroom intervention.
In Part 1, we will cover:
- An overview of occupational therapy & PEO model (person-environment-occupation)
- Keys to elementary OT intervention (fine motor, gross motor, self-care, sensory processing, & executive function)
- Understanding the functions of behavior (sensory/executive function)
Note: Collaborative members will use ONE TW: Trainings & Workshops seat to attend this two-part series. These sessions will NOT be recorded.
