High quality IEPs are an essential component in ensuring equity and access for our students with disabilities. By ensuring that IEP goals are aligned to general education standards, students with disabilities are included in general education practices and instruction, creating an alignment. When careful planning occurs with this alignment, ALL students benefit from many of the specially designed instruction practices. In this session, participants will learn how to align current educational standards to IEP goals through viewing exemplars, and practice writing SMART goals. Participants will also review a simple four-step process on how to use those goals to implement the IEP in inclusive settings.
